People have been using turmeric for hundreds of years for its healing and cosmetic benefits. This yellowish-orange spice is available as a ground spice, supplements, and is also added in some beauty products. 1) Turmeric and Gram Flour


When turmeric powder is mixed with gram flour, it forms an excellent and gentle scrub for all skin types. It helps in removing excess oil from the skin. All you have to do is mix a tablespoon each of gram flour and turmeric powder with a little water to form a paste. Apply this paste on your skin and let it dry. Wet your hands and with a gentle circular motion, wash the paste off to reveal smooth and soft skin.

2) Turmeric, Lemon Juice, and Honey


Citric acid found in lemon juice acts as a natural bleach, which helps lighten dark scars and spots. It also imparts glow to your skin. Lemon juice mixed with turmeric powder lightens pigmentation and skin discoloration. The addition of honey helps acne and pimples and also removes dullness from the skin. With regular use, the skin tone becomes even. Mix a tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough lemon juice and honey to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste evenly using a brush and wash it off with warm water.

3) Turmeric and Milk


Applying a mask made from turmeric and milk helps fight free radicals that have the potential to damage the skin, making you age faster. You can make this mask by mixing a tablespoon of turmeric powder with sufficient raw milk (do not make the mixture too runny) and apply it over your face and neck. 4) Turmeric and Coconut Oil


Coconut oil has nourishing fats that hydrate and protect your skin. They contain fatty acids, such as linoleic acid (vitamin F) and lauric acid, which retain skin moisture and have antibacterial properties.
