Happiness Is Contagious!

Happiness Is Contagious!

Not just today or tomorrow but every single day of your life should be a celebration. Besides the upcoming International Day of Happiness, of course, calls for an extra dose of merriness! Utilizing this happy day, let us stop, think, and show gratitude for the things that bring us joy. Because the world is a brighter, more beautiful place when we are happy!

1. A Day Just to Be Happy!

3

There was once no special day to celebrate the fundamental things humans cannot live without – happiness. That sounds unfair, right? Thanks to Bhutan for proposing the idea 11 years back and to the United Nations for acting upon fixing a day to celebrate happiness. The International Day of Happiness is celebrated on March 20th every year after its commencement in 2013. And here comes our turn for this year!

2. In the Pursuit of Happiness

4

But what exactly does happiness entail? Is happiness only a momentary emotion that comes and goes, or is there something more profound that should serve as the basis for our life and inspire us to pursue happiness? Although there are many facets and a complex solution to this question, one thing is certain: Pursuing happiness is a fundamental human goal and an essential part of living a meaningful life.

3. Healthy Is the New Happy!

5

Our mental and emotional health can ease from the strong emotion of gratitude. Instead of looking at what you lack, zero in on the things in your life for which you are grateful. This shift in perspective can bring about feelings of happiness and joy. According to research, routinely expressing thankfulness can enhance one’s mood, strengthen the bond with others, and even improve one’s physical health. We can live happier and more contented life by developing a demeanor of gratitude.

4. Mindfulness Goes Mainstream

6

Cut off the drama, be in the present, and see the magic. Being mindful will help you enjoy every little thing in your life and feel grateful for what you have. In the end, all we need is a serene and happy life. And the route to that is to judge a little less and love a little more.

5. The World Is Still a Better Place to Live

7

The world has been through a lot lately, but a bright light shines through the darkness. The World Happiness Report 2022 reveals that the pandemic did not just bring painful suffering but also an unexpected increase in social support and benevolence. This is something to be celebrated or rather treasured because it proves that humanity has the capacity for kindness and compassion even in the darkest of times. So, let us pause to appreciate this ray of hope and strive to continue spreading joy.
