7 Ways to Clear a Stuffy Nose

Stuffy nose is a condition that affects all of us occasionally. On most of the occasions, it can be dealt with easily at home. When your sinuses are infected by viruses (the common cold), it typically results in you suffering from a stuffy nose.

1.Inhaling the Aroma of Essential Oils


The aroma that is created by mixing eucalyptus oil in warm water can help release out nasal blockage within 10 – 20 minutes. The same can be done by using peppermint oil as well. This has also proven to be effective for clearing a stuffy nose.

2. Honey



Honey is very easily a powerhouse of nutrients. Taking 2 teaspoons of pure honey along with milk, tea or even water can become a remedy for stuffy nose. Make sure you do this as part of your daily routine if you are often susceptible to a blocked nose.

3. Saline Solution


Take a teaspoon of common salt and mix it with warm water. Using a dropper, pour small drops into your nostrils. This will have a direct impact on the mucus and work on thinning it. You will see almost immediate results.

4. Herbal Tea


Being a combination of blackberry, thyme, rosemary, peppermint, and chamomile, herbal tea is a wonderful cure for a clogged nose. While preparing your regular tea, add a dash of these herbs and consume it on a daily basis. This is very effective in combating your nose blockage.

5. Fenugreek


Mix fenugreek seeds with water. Heat it and consume it twice or thrice a day. The combination of damp fenugreek and hot water will dissolve the mucus and clear our nasal and sinus cavities.

6. Pepper


Pepper is probably the best remedy for stuffy nose. Add one teaspoon of black pepper and a tablespoon of honey to boiling water. Mix it well and drink it to get a huge relief from stuffy nose.

7. Apple Cider Vinegar


Add two teaspoons of Apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water and drink it at least 3 times a day. Adding a tablespoon of honey enriches the flavor and also increases the effectiveness of the drink. This solution provides good relief for all nose and sinus related problems.
