5 Reasons You Eat When You're Not Hungry

This is something almost all of us have done in our life at some point in time. Food seems to be an easy escape for us on several occasions. Most of the time we are not even aware that this is happening and only realize it when it is too late.

It can be much easier to avoid this if we are aware of the fact that this is happening. Here are a few most common scenarios during which we eat mindlessly.

1.Staying with the crowd

In the instance when you are out for a meal with family or friends, we usually tend to eat past the point where we are not hungry anymore. The conversation with the crowd will make you lose focus on how much you eat and you might end up eating more. Whatever the situation might be, train yourself to be mindful of what you eat and how much you eat.

2.Boredom

Eating for no reason might have started as a source of comfort or an escape from boredom. But once you start doing it on a regular basis, it starts inducing itself as a habit and your body starts expecting food every day at that specific time or that scenario. A typical example can be the inability some people have of not being able to watch a movie without any popcorn.

5.Nighttime Eating

For some people who tend to stay awake late at night, dinner might not always be the last meal of their day. Small healthy snacks including whole wheat toast, fruits and little popcorn might not create much of a harm. But eating heavy food with increased content of saturated fat and sodium can have double the amount of negative impact on your body during the night.
